Situated Gazes

Collective Exhibition, Centre SKOL, Montreal, Canada, January 13th – February 19th 2022

installation view exhibition with paintings and blown glass sculptures

The artists in this exhibition invent conceptual methods to bypass or deconstruct the usual frameworks of our perception of the Earth and the Living. Without reducing their proposal to a “personal point of view”, they do not aspire to a global or objective vision. Rather, their gaze is situated, aware of the framework within which it operates and the potential for both restriction and creativity within its limits. The works gathered experiment with the ability to make oneself sensitive to the world, without compartmentalizing the tools of science, belief, politics, and art.
